In efforts to move Hope Runs forward in the process of getting its own tax-exemption status (as opposed to being fiscally sponsored, which means we have to pay 5-8% of our donations to another organization in order to call ourselves tax-exempt), we have started the process of hiring lawyer people.
In our first phone meeting today, said new lawyer person asked,
"Soap Runs? Your organization is called 'Soap' Runs??"
Ah, an auspicious beginning.
