Day 303: You know what day it is...

by Lara. Lara@TrippingOnWords.com

Happy Valentine's Day!!! Woke up early to work, and so am watching Ellen who is talking to Gladys, her eighty-eight year old friend we have already discussed, who has been married to her husband Floyd for 55 years. She does point out, though, that Floyd has been napping for probably half of that, and not listening for the other half, so really she feels she barely knows the man.

As two single girls, Claire and I cannot imagine this type of commitment, but we can imagine enjoying lots of sweet sweet lovin' on Valentine's Day. So here is more love to everyone...enjoy the day. I (Lara) figure that if no one else is spoiling you today, you should do it yourself. So I had a chocolate croissant for breakfast, am going out for coffee, and will work hard before taking a bubble bath...

And if you are single like Claire and I, you should perhaps check out our other blog and find constructive ways to rid yourself of negative energy.

But more on that later.

"Secret Agent Man" by Joyce Sutphen.

Secret Agent Man

You looked so good at the top of the stairs
that I wonder if you might consider

standing at the bus stop near Franklin
and 22nd at about 6:30 AM,

wearing a dark overcoat and a red
scarf, nodding (just slightly) when

I pass, and I wouldn't mind looking
Out my office window at about

10 AM and seeing you (so small I
couldn't be sure) waving from

the far corner of the parking lot,
and then, at lunch, you could be

the mysterious man sitting in the bar,
the one who never turns around until

I am almost out the door with friends
who would have no idea who you are,

and it would be wonderful to see you
disguised as a UPS man, coming in

at 3 PM with a large package
full of various useless things

and a note, telling me exactly
where I could find you later on tonight.

Waterfall by Griffin House

Lyrics-

GRIFFIN HOUSE
Waterfall

Baby, stay with me
You know I will never give up
Sometimes when the rain falls down
I wait there until it is done
Patiently I wait for thee
Prayers for me ain't enough
So many waterways leading out
Why'd we give it up?

And your boat goes by, down to the waterfall
And the time goes by, like trees on the riverbanks
And your time rushing by, down to the waterfall
I hear your call, I know you'd sound amazed if you'd
Hold on to your love
It might not be coming back
Hold on to your love
It might not be coming back

Baby, I didn't mean to come
Have I interrupted your fun?
Maybe, if I could've known
I would have waited until it was done
Impatiently, I wait for thee
"Pray for me" ain't enough
So many waterways leading out
Why'd we give it up?

And your boat goes by, down to the waterfall
And the time goes by, like trees on the riverbanks
And your time rushing by, down to the waterfall
I hear you call, I know you'd sound amazed if you'd
Hold on to your love
It might not be coming back
Hold on to your love
It might not be coming back

Wipe off your tears
Pick up your feet
Cause you got miles and miles and miles and miles to go yet
If anyone makes you feel, you've been waiting too long
Oh, I've been waiting for you, I been waiting for you

If you hold on to your love, it might not be coming back
Hold on to your love, it might not be coming back
